Notes from Kootenay FOR meeting, September 23, 2004

Arrangements were discussed for the Circles of Hope Event on October 9:

• Ernest is to set up a Kootenday FOR table;
• Trish is to make a sign regarding donations for environmental societies and to help defray the cost of goodies;
• Rosemary is to type up the program;
• Isaac is to send out a second press release for the event;
• David is to ask various coffee houses to make donations of coffee, tea or goodies for the event;
• Trish, Rosemary, Isaac, Ernest, and Klaus are to bring some goodies;
• Isaac is to set up the food and coffee.

Grant suggested that the FOR magazine be taken to the Nelson library to add to their collection.

Grant passed around informational material from The South Central Peace Conference in Kelowna.

Trish reported that Nadine would like volunteers for her event, which is to take place in November.

Grant reported that the Canadian Peace Alliance is encouraging rallies against Canada joining the US Missile Defence system. A rally is planned outside Gouke’s office in Castlegar on October 2.

The next meeting is on November 1st, 2004.
